LEON Sci — Terms and Conditions
Version 0.8 — 5 November 2026.
This version applies to new registrations at which it is presented for acceptance; it does not retrospectively replace earlier agreements.
P01. Operator and contact
LEON Sci is operated by Dr. Shahin Ghaziani, an individual sole proprietor established in Germany ("we", "us" or "our"). LEON Sci is the platform name.
Business address: Hasenpfuhlstraße 11, 67346 Speyer, Germany.
Contact: info@leon-sci.com. You can use this address for account enquiries, reports and communications from public authorities. Messages are handled by the operator, and you may write in German or English. You may also contact us by telephone at +49 176 50670245. Further operator details are in our Legal Notice (Impressum). Our Privacy Notice explains personal-data processing and your privacy rights.
P02. Scope and stages of availability
These Terms cover our public information and legal pages and the free member-account service available in Phase 1: registration, email verification, login and recovery, your own private profile and available Settings. Restricted administrative functions support account operation and security. We send essential verification, recovery, security and permitted account-administration emails.
Registration is offered worldwide to eligible adults. Availability does not remove mandatory protections that apply in your country. Reading public pages does not require an account or have an account-age restriction.
Member profiles are private in Phase 1. Other members and public visitors cannot view them through the service. Necessary operator and service-provider handling of stored data is explained in the Privacy Notice; private profile visibility does not mean that no such handling occurs. Public team biographies are a separate part of the website.
Public member profiles, contributor applications, Creator/Reviewer work, submissions, public Posts and comments, member messaging and in-app notifications are not part of this phase. Registration does not confer a contributor role or any right to publish.
Any later Creator or Reviewer role will require verification of actual identity and relevant qualifications under separate rules provided before applications open. Information about planned features does not promise a launch date or grant rights in future programmes. Those activities need their own applicable terms and permissions before they begin.
The account service described here is free. There is no subscription, automatic paid renewal or payment obligation under these Terms. Any later paid offer requires its own terms and agreement before a charge arises.
The account provisions below form part of the Terms offered at signup. Merely visiting a public page does not mean that you accepted an account agreement. Public content permissions and statutory rights apply according to their respective conditions, independently of whether an account contract exists.
P03. Scientific information and individual advice
LEON Sci supports communication and discussion of science, initially focusing on medicine and healthcare. Scientific information and discussion are for general information and do not provide individual medical advice, diagnosis, treatment recommendations or interpretation of a person's medical results. Do not use the platform to request or provide that individual advice.
General scientific discussion of health conditions remains allowed. Do not disclose identifiable personal health histories or health data about yourself or other people through member profiles or contributions. This restriction applies to private profiles as well as any later contributions.
A01. Eligibility and account formation
You must be at least 18 and able to enter into this agreement to create an account. Use an email address you control and provide accurate information about your age, contact details and any affiliation or qualification you state.
We encourage you to use your actual first and last names. You may use a chosen name or pseudonym for ordinary membership; using one does not permit impersonation, false claims of qualifications or affiliation, or representing an account as belonging to someone else. Names are self-declared, and ordinary membership does not mean that we have independently verified identity or qualifications. Any mandatory right to anonymous or pseudonymous use remains unaffected.
Selecting “Agree and join the community” submits your registration on the version of these Terms presented at that step. Email verification and the required account-completion steps follow. The account-service agreement begins when we make your completed account available to you; an unfinished registration alone does not establish that all member functions are available. You may correct information through the available controls or contact us for help.
We record the Terms version and relevant acceptance action associated with the account. A Privacy Notice acknowledgement records that the notice was provided; it is not consent to unrelated processing. These Terms do not require you to join an optional marketing, AI-training or commercial data programme. We use the personal data you provide for this Phase 1 account only to provide the account service you request and meet applicable legal requirements, as explained in the Privacy Notice. This includes objectively necessary account protection and administration, not a general permission for unrelated reuse.
A02. Account security and permitted use
Keep your password and verification or recovery codes confidential. Do not sell, transfer or share account access. If you believe someone has gained unauthorised access, use the available recovery/security controls and contact us. Do not send us your password or a verification code by ordinary email.
Do not access someone else's account or private information without authority, bypass access restrictions or security limits, introduce malicious code, or deliberately disrupt the service. Automated collection is subject to the public-content permissions below and does not permit access to private profiles or account functions. This does not restrict conduct protected by mandatory law.
Essential account and security emails are part of operating the service. They are distinct from optional marketing. Delivery can be affected by your email provider, spam filtering or a necessary delivery block; contact us if you cannot receive a required message. These Terms do not promise that every email will be delivered or read.
A03. Your private profile and images
You choose which optional professional details and images to add. You can edit your profile and use the image-removal controls that are available. A name, title or affiliation entered by a member is not independently verified merely because it appears in that member's profile.
Provide only material you are entitled to use and information relevant to your professional profile. Do not upload unlawful material, confidential information about others, identifiable personal health histories or medical records. Your profile picture should show you or no person; do not use another person's likeness to misrepresent identity or endorsement. Respect copyright, applicable licence/credit conditions and the rights of recognisable people.
You retain your rights in the material you provide. To the extent permission is needed, you give us a nonexclusive, royalty-free permission limited to operating your requested private profile: storing and processing the material, making necessary security and backup copies, preparing images through cropping, resizing or format conversion, and displaying them to you through the service. Technical providers may perform those tasks on our behalf. Required attribution and rights information must be respected.
This permission does not authorize public profile publication, advertising use, external republication, sale of your profile or images, or AI-model training. Removing material or ending the account ends permission for its ordinary profile use; any remaining storage must have a separate necessary operational or legal justification under the Privacy Notice and applicable law. It is not an unrestricted continuing content licence.
A04. Restrictions, reports and review
We may apply necessary and proportionate restrictions to protect accounts and the service, comply with applicable law, or address a specific breach of these Terms, including unlawful content, impersonation, unauthorised access or serious security misuse. Depending on the concern, a restriction may affect particular material or functions or account access. A report alone does not establish a breach.
The operator assesses individual reports and requests for review. Technical authentication and abuse-prevention checks can limit requests; these are distinct from an individual assessment of a reported content violation. We do not promise routine human screening of every private profile.
We explain material restrictions, their factual and applicable legal or contractual basis, their scope and duration where known, and the available review/remedy route, subject to applicable legal requirements and necessary confidentiality. Where required for a breach that can be remedied, we give a warning or opportunity to remedy it before ending the agreement. Urgent protective action may precede contact where justified. Temporary action is reassessed in light of the available information.
You may ask us to review a restriction at info@leon-sci.com and explain why you believe it is mistaken. This is an email route, not an in-app appeal function. You do not have to complete this route before using a legally available remedy. Both parties retain any statutory right to terminate for an important reason; these Terms create no unrestricted right to terminate accounts at will.
A05. Ending your account and handling your data
The account agreement is open-ended and has no minimum membership period. Ending this agreement also ends your membership and access to member functions; membership cannot continue without the agreement. You may end the free account agreement at any time without a fee or notice period by emailing info@leon-sci.com. The Settings link helps you compose an email; you can also write independently, including if you cannot sign in. No special subject line or terminology is required. A clear termination takes effect when received, or on a later date you specify; it is not subject to our discretionary approval. We handle your message according to its substance, including any applicable statutory withdrawal right, rather than requiring a particular legal label. We may need proportionate information to verify that a request concerns your account before acting on protected data or access.
When you email us to end your account, we will close login access and delete your active account and profile data, including profile images, within 72 hours of receiving your request, unless you ask us to act on a later date. We handle requests individually; there is no self-service whole-account deletion function in this phase.
Contract termination, ending technical access and erasing stored data are separate actions. Necessary legal records and backup copies follow the limited retention rules in the Privacy Notice. We explain any limited information that must remain for a particular legal duty or other specifically justified necessity. We do not keep a general archive of your account-agreement records merely against possible future claims. A concrete existing dispute requires a separate assessment of the particular records and applicable retention grounds. A need for limited evidence does not authorize retention of the whole profile or further ordinary profile use. The 72-hour commitment does not mean that every backup or provider copy is erased within that period.
You may request a copy, correction or deletion of your personal data, or exercise other applicable privacy rights, at the same address. Account closure is not a prerequisite for those rights. The Privacy Notice describes the applicable handling and retention criteria. These Terms do not restrict any mandatory right to retrieve material you provided or created, or any applicable cooling-off withdrawal right.
A06. Signup information and consumer rights
The agreement is concluded in English. You submit registration by selecting “Agree and join the community”, then verify your email and complete the required account details. As explained in A01, the account-service agreement begins when we make your completed account available to you. Email verification alone does not activate membership.
You can review and correct information on each form before submitting it. During email verification, “Change email” starts a new registration; it does not rename, delete or merge the earlier one. If you need help correcting account information after completion, contact us.
Account functions require a working email address and an internet-connected browser with JavaScript and the first-party cookies needed for registration and authentication enabled. LEON charges no account fee or additional communication fee; your provider's ordinary connection or communication charges remain your responsibility.
Before submitting your registration, you can read the Terms being offered and download a PDF of that version through the links at registration. When the account agreement is concluded, we send you an agreement-confirmation email identifying the agreement date and accepted Terms version, with the same PDF attached. We provide that confirmation before beginning performance of the account service. Keep the PDF and confirmation for your records. The copy associated with your agreement is not replaced merely because we later publish different Terms.
We retain the relevant Terms text/version and only the linked acceptance evidence needed for current account administration or a specifically justified legal purpose. After closure, linked evidence follows the limited necessity-based review described in the Privacy Notice; there is no routine archive merely against possible future claims.
You may contact info@leon-sci.com to ask about the version associated with your account and obtain the corresponding text. This additional contact-based request route does not replace the registration download or confirmation attachment. These Terms do not promise an account document archive or automatic personal-data export function. Retaining evidence of an earlier acceptance does not mean that you accepted later wording.
If you enter the account agreement mainly for purposes outside your trade, business or profession, you are a consumer. Mandatory consumer protections remain unaffected. Where mandatory consumer rules for digital services apply to your agreement, they preserve your rights concerning conformity, including updates required by law. Under those rules, if the service is defective, you may request that it be brought into conformity and, where the statutory conditions are met, end the agreement or claim damages or reimbursement of qualifying wasted expenses. Whether particular statutory rules apply depends on their legal conditions; free pricing alone does not decide that question. These Terms preserve applicable mandatory rights and do not create an additional commercial guarantee.
A07. Statutory withdrawal rights, where applicable
Relationship to ordinary membership termination
You may end your free membership and account agreement at any time under A05. That contractual right is separate from any statutory cooling-off withdrawal right.
Any statutory withdrawal right that applicable law gives you remains unaffected. The German statutory withdrawal information below applies where the German distance-contract withdrawal rules apply to your agreement. It does not grant an additional voluntary cooling-off right where the law does not provide one, or require a reason or fee for ordinary termination.
German statutory withdrawal information — where applicable
Where that statutory right applies, you may withdraw from the account agreement within 14 days without giving a reason.
The withdrawal period is 14 days from conclusion of the account agreement described in A01. It does not begin before you have received the legally required withdrawal information. Any longer period or other protection required by applicable law remains unaffected.
To withdraw, inform Dr. Shahin Ghaziani, Hasenpfuhlstraße 11, 67346 Speyer, Germany, email info@leon-sci.com, telephone +49 176 50670245, of your decision by a clear statement, for example by email or letter. You may use the model form below, but you do not have to. No special wording or account login is required. Please provide enough information to identify the agreement concerned.
If you are signed in, you may use “Request account closure” in Settings to compose your email to info@leon-sci.com. You do not need a separate form or a particular legal phrase: clearly explain that you wish to cancel or withdraw from your signup agreement. You can also write directly without signing in. The Settings link opens your email application; the request is sent when you send the email.
You meet the deadline if you send your withdrawal statement before the period expires.
Effect of statutory withdrawal — where applicable
Withdrawal ends the account agreement. Further account access must then be ended, and personal data is handled under the Privacy Notice and applicable law. Withdrawal does not require immediate erasure of every record where particular information must lawfully be retained; it does not authorize keeping the full profile without a necessary basis.
There is no membership payment to refund for this free Phase 1 service, and we charge no fee for withdrawal or for use of the free account before withdrawal. Starting to use the ongoing account service does not, by itself, waive the statutory withdrawal right. For an unpaid service, the statutory right can expire when the service has been fully performed. Creating the account and making an ongoing profile service available do not, by themselves, amount to full performance of that ongoing service.
Your separate right to end ordinary membership at any time under A05 remains unchanged.
Model statutory withdrawal form — where applicable
Use this form only if you wish to withdraw; an independently written clear statement is equally acceptable.

Delete any wording that does not apply. You do not have to complete this form or provide every listed detail to make a valid withdrawal statement; we need enough information to identify the agreement and understand that you wish to withdraw.
P04. Content rights and ordinary use
Content available through LEON Sci may be protected by copyright, related rights or database rights. Those rights remain with their respective holders. We claim only rights we own or are authorized to exercise; we do not claim exclusive rights in facts, ideas, scientific findings, public-domain material or other unprotected information.
You may read and view publicly available content, listen to or watch publicly available recordings, and share ordinary links. Where we make the Content Creation Guideline available, you may also use short, unchanged passages with LEON Sci credit and a link to the original. That permission includes commercial communications and publications, but does not extend to whole Guideline sections, adaptations, other content categories or AI Training.
P05. Ordinary search indexing
Ordinary search engines may crawl and index publicly available LEON Sci text, retain the index and working copies reasonably necessary for that search function, and display links with short text snippets to help users find the original pages, to the extent we own or are authorized to grant the relevant rights. This permission does not authorize AI Training, a reusable collection for generating AI answers, substantial republication, or bypassing access restrictions or usage limits. An index retained for this permitted ordinary search function is not prohibited merely because it is reusable. Any use of that index for AI-generated answers must have its own applicable permission; this search permission does not supply it. Statutory exceptions and valid applicable third-party licences remain unaffected.
P06. Limited AI answers and reusable collections
To the extent we own or are authorized to grant the relevant rights, an AI service may retrieve publicly available LEON Sci text as needed to answer a user's specific question, make temporary working copies necessary for that answer, and provide a brief answer with a clear source citation and link to the original LEON Sci page. This permission does not allow an answer to reproduce a substantial part of a Post, transcript or page, or authorize any use for AI Training.
This permission does not authorize collecting or retaining protected source text, extracts or content-derived representations as a reusable collection for answering later, separate requests, or supplying such a collection to others. A reusable retrieval database is an example; an index used only for the permitted ordinary search function above is excluded. Except where applicable law or a valid applicable licence permits the use without further permission, you must obtain separate permission from the relevant rightsholder. Where these restrictions form part of an agreement binding on you, you must not undertake such collection or onward supply without that permission. Repeated requests do not expand the limited permission into permission for systematic collection.
Saving a permitted brief answer or its source link does not, by itself, create such a source-content collection. This permission does not authorize bypassing access restrictions or usage limits and grants no rights belonging to others. The legal exceptions below remain unaffected.
P07. AI training and collection for training
“AI Training” means using content for training, pre-training, fine-tuning, retraining or distilling an artificial-intelligence or machine-learning model, including preparing or processing content as training material for those activities.
Beyond the permissions expressly stated here, an applicable separate licence or applicable law, we grant no permission to use content obtained through LEON Sci for AI Training, collect or prepare it for a training dataset, or supply it to others for either purpose. Contractual prohibitions on those activities apply only where they form part of an agreement binding on you; copyright, database rights and statutory exceptions apply independently of contractual assent. This includes direct and indirect collection, automated and manual collection, and collection on another person's behalf. It applies to text, audio, video, transcripts, captions and other content, subject to the rights and legal exceptions applicable to that material. It is not limited to bulk collection or commercial training.
Where a contract binding on you contains these restrictions, you must not evade applicable collection restrictions through intermediaries, misuse credentials or bypass access restrictions or usage limits, except to the extent applicable law permits the conduct.
Public access, attribution, linking, an account, technical access or an ordinary quotation permission does not itself grant AI Training rights. A separate written licence from us and payment of the fees required before access or use are necessary for AI Training that we are entitled to authorize. A licence covers only the material and uses it specifies; payment alone grants no rights.
P08. Text-and-data-mining reservation and legal exceptions
We expressly reserve the use of protected content for text and data mining for AI Training, preparation of training datasets, or establishing or maintaining the reusable AI retrieval collections described above, to the extent we own or are authorized to exercise the relevant rights. This reservation is made under Article 4(3) of Directive (EU) 2019/790, Section 44b(3) of the German Copyright Act and equivalent applicable provisions. The permissions above and category boundaries below define the scope of this reservation.
For protected material made available online, the reservation under Section 44b(3) of the German Copyright Act requires an effective machine-readable form. This written notice states the scope of our reservation; it is not a representation that technical implementation has been completed. Statutory exceptions and valid applicable third-party licences remain unaffected.
Nothing in this section removes a statutory exception or limitation, including applicable scientific-research, quotation or accessibility rights, or overrides a valid applicable third-party licence. Where applicable law permits the particular use without permission or payment, neither is required from us. Beyond the ordinary search and limited AI-answer permissions above, this section grants no general permission for standalone model evaluation or other AI uses. Those uses are governed by the permissions and law applicable to them.
We may restrict unauthorized collection and seek remedies available under applicable law, subject to required procedures. This section creates no automatic access fee or contractual penalty and does not grant us rights in contributor content.
P09. Other public-page text and category boundaries
The additional permission for short Guideline passages does not apply to About LEON Sci, Who We Are, membership information or other public-page text. Beyond express permission, an applicable licence or legally permitted use, broader copying, adaptation or republication of protected original text requires permission from the relevant rightsholder.
The Guideline permission includes commercial publications, but covers only short unchanged passages with clear LEON Sci credit and a link to the original. A whole section, the whole Guideline or an adapted version needs separate permission unless applicable law permits the use. Applying its recommendations in your own science communication or writing is encouraged and does not itself require permission to reproduce wording.
Photographs, logos, third-party material, member contributions and future Posts are separate content categories; no general republication permission for them follows from the Guideline permission.
P10. Reports and requests for review
Anyone may report content they believe is unlawful or breaches these Terms at info@leon-sci.com. Identify the material and its location as precisely as possible, explain why you believe it is unlawful or breaches a rule, and supply relevant supporting information. For an unlawful-content notice, include your name and email address and a statement that you believe the information and allegations are accurate and complete. Do not include unnecessary sensitive information; any legally applicable exception to providing identifying details remains available. You may still send a report when you cannot supply every detail. We do not reject a report solely because one of the listed details is missing; we may ask for information needed to assess it.
You do not need an account to report a concern. Where we have electronic contact details, we acknowledge receipt and communicate our decision and the applicable review/remedy information as required. We assess reports objectively and take appropriate action under applicable law; an allegation alone does not establish infringement. We explain any use of automated means in processing or deciding the report where required.
Reports about our own informational pages are assessed according to their subject, including copyright, privacy and scientific accuracy. Storage of private member material does not make it public. The rules for material restrictions and review in A04 apply where relevant; additional public-contribution procedures must be completed before those later functions open.
P11. Changes, language and governing law
We identify each version of these Terms and when it applies. The version presented for acceptance at registration governs that new account agreement, subject to applicable law and any later validly agreed changes. Routine clarifications and changes that do not materially affect rights or data processing do not have a fixed thirty-day notice period. For material changes, we give reasonable notice appropriate to the change and follow any applicable notice, agreement or termination requirements. Publishing a revised page does not itself obtain additional rights in earlier contributions or expand an optional data-use choice. Changes to an existing contract follow the applicable agreement and mandatory law, including any required notice, right to end the contract or fresh agreement. Where fresh agreement or consent is required, we obtain it before relying on the change.
These Terms are drafted in English as the controlling language. A later convenience translation is not a professionally verified controlling version unless expressly designated as such. Mandatory protections remain unaffected.
The account agreement is governed by German law, without depriving consumers of mandatory protections that apply to them. Nothing here requires ordinary members to arbitrate disputes or prevents access to legally available remedies. These Terms impose no exclusive German court on consumers; the courts available under applicable law remain available.
The account rules in A01–A07 are part of these Terms; no separate Member Account Terms are required for this Phase 1 offer. An applicable separate written licence governs the specific material and uses it authorizes. Separate Creator and Reviewer agreements are required before those later activities and grants. The Privacy Notice describes processing of personal data; it does not itself grant copyright permissions or constitute consent. Mandatory law and valid rights of third parties remain unaffected.
For account-contract matters and complaints, contact info@leon-sci.com. Any consumer-dispute information required for a particular unresolved dispute will be supplied as required by applicable law.
P12. Availability, external links and liability
Maintenance, faults or necessary security measures may temporarily affect access. We do not promise uninterrupted availability or that every scientific information item is complete or current. Changes affecting an existing account agreement, or discontinuation of an account service, remain subject to that agreement and applicable notice, termination and consumer-protection requirements. These Terms do not waive duties to provide the agreed service or any legally required remedy or security update.
Linked external pages are operated by their respective providers. A link does not by itself mean that we endorse every statement on that page. We assess specific reports concerning unlawful linked material and take action where required.
Our liability is governed by applicable law. These Terms do not exclude or limit liability for intent or gross negligence, for culpable injury to life, body or health, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Mandatory consumer rights remain unaffected.
