How LEON Sci works...

LEON Sci bridges the gap between academia and society. It gives everyone access to content that they can trust is based on real scientific findings and has been verified by real scientists and experts.

Its collaborative and gamified ecosystem is designed to foster trust and accountability in how members contribute and communicate. Accuracy and scientific integrity are rewarded, while independent content verification, transparent sources, and community scrutiny help expose misinformation and support reliable content.

This ecosystem brings together three member roles:

  • Content Creators explain scientific research.
  • Reviewers check the evidence.
  • Visitors shape the community with their curiosity, questions, and perspectives.

Together, they help the community learn and grow.

Learn more about these roles using the interactive tool below.

LEON Sci uses Shared Growth to build a space of trust among its community members.

Shared Growth is the reward and accountability system for Content Creators and Reviewers.

It recognises their contributions through a reputation system and rewards them for accuracy and quality with a share of advertising revenue from the posts they create or review.

At the same time, it helps hold contributors accountable for misrepresenting evidence or spreading misinformation.

Each post has one Creator and one Reviewer.

Both can earn Points for quality contributions and active involvement in the community.

Points can be earned or lost in different ways.

For example, contributors can earn Points when or when their post reaches more people, encourages meaningful discussion, or is reposted and shared. Popularity matters, but accuracy remains essential.

On the other hand, confirmed misinformation, misrepresentation of evidence, or misconduct can lead to Points being deducted and other consequences.

Collecting Points helps contributors progress in Shared Growth through two measures: Tree of Knowledge (Community Impact) and Flame of Knowledge (Revenue Share Level)

Tree of Knowledge: a lasting record of reputation

Tree of Knowledge reflects the impact a member makes on the community and the reputation they build through their contributions on LEON Sci.

It is a score with no upper limit that grows as a member earns Points by creating valuable content, reviewing posts and taking an active part in the community.

Like a tree taking root and branching out, a member builds a lasting reputation through contributions that help knowledge spread across the community.

Losing Points due to misinformation or misconduct can lower a member’s Tree of Knowledge score and damage their reputation. Taking a break does not reduce this score.

The Flame of Knowledge: the revenue share level

The Flame of Knowledge represents a member’s Revenue Share Level. In the proposed system, this level determines their share of eligible advertising income from posts they create or review.

Earning Points and staying active helps the flame grow and keeps it burning. Members do not need to contribute every day.

After a grace period, continued inactivity gradually weakens the flame and lowers their revenue share, without reducing their Points or Tree of Knowledge score.

Each member has one flame for both creating and reviewing. Confirmed misinformation or misconduct can damage their reputation and weaken the flame. Depending on the severity, the proposed rules also allow the flame to be frozen entirely, suspending future earnings from all posts they have created or reviewed.

The proposed maximum shares are 40% for Creators and 30% for Reviewers, with each member’s percentage depending on their level.

These percentages apply to advertising income remaining after deductions for technical infrastructure, such as hosting, storage and content delivery. The proposed deductions do not include personnel or other general business costs.

LEON Sci receives the remainder to support the platform. Level changes and suspensions affect future earnings from existing and new posts, without taking back revenue already earned.

Learning and improving together

Shared Growth is not a perfect system. No score can fully capture the care behind a contribution or guarantee that a claim is correct. Our goal is a transparent and fair system that recognises the value of contributors’ work and helps them share science with everyone interested in it.

Revenue sharing is not active during the initial launch phases.

The system described here is experimental: the percentages, calculation method, infrastructure deductions and payment conditions are proposals that may change as we test and learn.

Participation and earning conditions are confirmed before revenue sharing begins. Later changes follow the applicable participation conditions and legal requirements.

We build LEON Sci for and with its community.

We aim to empower members, explain changes to their Points and levels, and give them a way to raise concerns. Feedback from members helps us improve the system as we learn together.

To share feedback, please email info@leon-sci.com with the subject “Suggestions for Shared Growth”. We truly appreciate your support and engagement.
